What we collect

Account data — your email address and name, handled by our authentication provider (Clerk). We never see or store your password.

Business data you give us — product ideas you scan, ASINs you track, your business name, state, and GSTIN if you provide them, inventory and supplier inputs, and settlement files you upload for reconciliation.

Public marketplace data — prices, ranks, ratings, and listing content we collect from public Amazon.in pages for the products you ask us to watch.

Usage data — which features you use, so we can improve the product.

Website analytics and cookies

We set no cookies for analytics or advertising, and there is nothing to consent to. To see which pages people read, we use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless: instead of an identifier that follows you, it derives a hash from your request that is reset every day, so you are not recognisable tomorrow or on any other site. It records the page address, the referring site, and coarse details like country, browser and device type. It does not record your IP address for us, and we never receive a profile of an individual visitor — only counts.

We trim what is reported further than the default: the page path is sent with at most the utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaigncampaign tags, and everything else in the address — including the referral code a friend's invite link carries — is removed before anything is sent.

The free tools do not send us your figures.The calculators and the settlement report analyser run entirely in your browser. A settlement report you open in the analyser is read on your own device and is never uploaded; the only thing recorded is that the tool was used, with no file name and no numbers. Per-unit costs you type are saved in your browser's own storage on your device, not with us. This is separate from the settlement files you may later upload while signed in to the product, which are covered above.

Waitlist

If you join the waitlist we store your email, and the optional name and marketplace you give, in our database (hosted on Railway), together with the page you signed up on and the campaign tags of the link that first brought you to the site (for example “reddit / community”). We use it only to contact you about WidenMargin early access and product updates. We never sell or share it. Ask us to delete it any time by writing to the address below, or by replying “remove” to any email from us.

Chrome extension

The WidenMargin Chrome extension collects and sends no data. When you click its icon on an Amazon.com product page, it reads the price and product title shown on that page, inside your browser, to pre-fill the calculator. It only does this on the tab you are looking at and only when you open it. The costs and fees you type are remembered in your own browser so they are there next time; they are never transmitted to us or anyone else. The extension has no analytics, no account and no background activity.

How we use it

To run the service: generating your scans, briefings, alerts, and recommendations; emailing you the daily briefing if you opt in; and computing fee, tax, and inventory math you request. AI-generated outputs (briefings, drafts, verdicts) are produced by sending the relevant inputs to our AI providers (Anthropic, DeepSeek) under their API terms — they do not train on this data.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with anyone except the processors below.

Who processes it

Clerk (authentication), Vercel (web hosting and the cookieless website analytics described above), Railway (application and database hosting), Resend (email delivery), and our AI providers named above. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.

Your controls

You can wipe your tracked data any time from Settings, and delete your account entirely by writing to us. We keep data only while your account is active or as required for accounting.
