Amazon.in settlement “real profit” calculator

Your Amazon.in payout is one net number. This breaks it back into sales, Amazon fees, ads, refunds, TCS, TDS and the reserve — then takes off GST and your product cost — so you can see the profit that is actually left. Enter your own numbers; nothing leaves your browser.

How the estimate works

Real profit ≈ gross sales − refunds − referral/closing fees − FBA/storage fees − ads − TCS − TDS − reserve, and then minus the GST inside your sales and the cost of the goods you sold.

  • Sales and refunds are entered including GST; the GST is backed out at your product's rate.
  • TCS (0.5% under GST since 10 Jul 2024) and TDS 194-O (about 0.1%) are applied to the taxable value net of refunds. That base is an assumption — confirm it and the live rates with a CA.
  • “GST on your sales” is before input-tax credit on Amazon's fees and your purchases, so the profit line is deliberately conservative.
  • TCS, TDS and the reserve cut the cash you get now but can come back later (TCS as GST credit, TDS against income tax, the reserve when released), so the result shows profit both before and after they are recovered.
  • Fees are whatever you enter. Check your own Amazon fee preview or settlement report for the exact numbers.

Settlement questions sellers ask

Why is my Amazon payout so much lower than my sales?

Amazon.in deposits payments every 7 days, and the payout is one net figure: sales minus refunds, referral and closing fees, FBA and storage fees, ads if they are deducted, TCS, TDS and anything held back — and an order only enters a settlement once its funds are released. The Settlement Report is the file that reconciles it line by line.

Can I record the Amazon payout as my revenue?

No. The payout is already net of fees, refunds, taxes and reserves, so recording it as revenue hides your real costs. Record the gross sales and each deduction separately, as the Settlement Report shows them. Confirm your bookkeeping with a CA.

What is TCS on an Amazon.in settlement?

Tax Collected at Source by the e-commerce operator under GST. The rate is 0.5% (reduced from 1% with effect from 10 July 2024), and you can claim it as credit. This calculator applies it to your taxable value net of refunds; confirm the base with a CA.

What is TDS under section 194-O?

Income-tax TDS deducted by the e-commerce operator, at about 0.1%. The rate and base can change, so confirm the live rate with a CA. The calculator lets you edit it.

Are the fee numbers in the calculator Amazon's real fees?

No. The pre-filled numbers are only an example. Fees vary by category, item value and size, so enter the figures from your own settlement report, or check your own Amazon fee preview for the exact number.
